Allowing creative minds to flourish is as important as knowing your timetables! The importance of developed thinking skills is crucial and lends towards a multitude of aspects when completing the 11+. To instil this at an early age is setting yourself or your child up for success!
These are a few of our favourite stories, we hope you enjoy them!
Those in year 3 should be comfortable reading books 1-5, however, at Champions Tuition you should be pushing yourself to the reading level of year 4, these being, books 6-10.
The Boy Who Grew Dragons - Andy Shepherd
The Abominables - Eva Ibbotson
Pippi Longstocking - Astrid Lindgren
Kate on the Case - Hannah Peck
It Was a Dark and Stromy Night - Janet Alhberg
The Curio Collectors - Eloise Williams
The Monster Spotter's Handbook - Matt Cherry
The Worst Witch - Jill Murphy
Charlotte's Web - E.B. White
George's Marvellous Medicine - Roald Dahl
Although these are a few books we recommend, no set of books will be enjoyed by everyone, so it is important to explore outside of this list. As J.K. Rowling said, 'If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.'
